Roots is a private family social app. One person creates a family space and shares an invitation link or code. New members request to join, and someone with permission approves them. Once inside, people share photos and updates, organize memories in folders, and choose which family members or close connections can see each post.

What can people share?
Family members can share camera-based daily moments or lasting memories from selected photos. Posts can include captions, replies, folders, and reactions.
Who can see a post?
The person posting chooses the audience from their family members and close connections. Roots does not have a public feed.
Is the home feed chronological?
Not strictly. Roots brings unseen posts forward so an update is less likely to disappear just because someone opened the app later.
How are memories organized?
Folders keep related moments together, while captions and replies stay attached to the post that started the conversation.
Before you join
Beta access and family invitations are different.
Joining the waitlist asks for access to the Roots beta. After you have an account, a family invitation is the link or code that connects you to a particular family space.
